Licensure establishes entry into professional practice. It does not build every system required to sustain one.
Once credentialed, practitioners must make decisions about pricing, preparation, communication, scheduling, client expectations, boundaries, capacity, and growth.
Many practitioners build this wider professional structure while the work is already underway: refining craft, serving clients, and meeting daily demands at the same time. The systems surrounding a practice are often shaped through repetition and trial and error, because the work cannot pause while the structure is being built.
Technical and clinical education serve essential roles within each profession. Marlowe was created to concentrate on a different dimension of practice: the judgment, systems, and professional habits surrounding the work.

Marlowe was not created because practitioners lack talent, commitment, creativity, or ambition. It was created because those qualities should not have to compensate for missing systems.
Every Marlowe learning experience begins from the understanding that the practitioner entering the room has already done serious work, technically, professionally, and personally, to arrive where they are.
That experience matters.
Marlowe does not ask practitioners to disregard what they have built. It provides a structure through which existing knowledge, judgment, and experience can be examined, organized, and strengthened.
The purpose is not to replace professional instinct. It is to give that instinct stronger conditions in which to operate.
